Kyungmin Nam’s paintings explore the traces left by unattained relationships and incomplete moments through her sensitivity to material, color, and the presence of emptiness.
Within repeated brushstrokes and unstable forms, her works never move toward resolution; instead,
they reveal meanings that waver endlessly along the boundary between emergence and disappearance. In relationships that draw close only to drift apart and emotions that hide only to resurface, the viewer encounters their own interiority. On the canvas, where multiple emotions coexist and collide, solitude persists — not as an absence of something that should be erased but as an inevitable tension that constantly resurfaces. For her, solitude is not a state of isolation but a delicate realm that tests the possibility of relation, reflecting the inherent nature of human connection.
Through her pictorial exploration of instability and inner vibration, Kyungmin Nam captures moments of living relationships that remain in motion and transformation.
