Jaine Hum invites us to see the most familiar human actions from an unfamiliar perspective within a surreal world where humor coexists with absurdity.
In her works, the everyday acts of eating and sleeping are no longer mere moments of life, but anxious signs that foretell destruction and death. The hazy spaces, as if drowned underwater, and the blue tones that spread cold across the canvas evoke fragments of dreams remaining somewhere in memory. The figures who wander between reality and unreality carry within them a somber solitude and melancholy. Through this dreamlike ambiance, the artist asks us to reflect on the essence of life and the paradoxical condition of being human.
